Work Summary

Schedules and coordinates Helac’s flow of work within or between departments to expedite production by performing the following duties.
 
Description of Work Performed:
  • Develop a master schedule for all production jobs on order.
  • Maintain a daily production schedule according to Sales Department requirements.
  • Schedule capacity and resources to meet the shipping schedule. Notify the Production Manager of any resources required to improve efficiency or to meet Sales Department requirements.
  • Maintain a workflow that provides the highest productivity levels. Keep schedule changes to the minimum amount necessary.
  • Schedule product through Avante MRP system.
Relations to Others:
The ability to maintain working relationships with all levels of Helac staff as well as outside contacts (i.e., vendors, etc.). 

Direction Received from Others:
Supply Chain Manager

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one year of experience as the Production Scheduler Assistant.
  • Extensive experience with MRP systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and bills of materials.
  • Understanding of the correct order of machining process and material flow through the manufacturing cycle.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Manufacturing Engineer/Quality Assurance Manager (Rotary Actuators)

Work Summary   
 
Provide overall direction of the Quality Control System and internal process documents for the manufacturing of helical rotary actuators and construction equipment attachments. Assure good manufacturing practice compliance for plant operations, assure product quality, assure proper use of raw materials and direct sampling and inspection of raw materials. Maintain a supplier quality evaluation system. Recommend process improvements utilizing quality tools. (SPC –statistical process control, FMEA –failure mode & effects analysis, PFMEA – process failure mode & effects analysis, PPAP – production part approval process). Provide responsive and effective statistical analysis of data to support production processes. (CPK, Gage Repeatability & Reproducibility, etc.) Use logistics material flow, cost analysis, and production coordination. Implement improvements to lead company to ISO standardization. Direct investigation and resolution of quality incidents.  Lead training efforts for implementation of investigation/problem solving tools. Oversee work of dimensional inspector and quality control employee. Use state of the art manufacturing equipment to produce sophisticated products according to customer specifications and implement lean manufacturing processes. Requires Master's Degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field plus two years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineer or related position. Will accept Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field plus five years of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Quality Engineer or related position. Experience must include manufacturing engineering with a focus on lean production and quality control production and use of PPAP, PFMEA, CNC programming and development of overall quality control material handling systems and safety plans. 40 hours per week. Send resumes to Harry Lange, 225 Battersby Avenue, Enumclaw, WA 98022 or hlange@helac.com

Tool Maker
Work Summary

Analyzes specifications, lays out metal stock, sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools by performing the following duties.
 
Description of Work Performed:
  • Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools to perform precision machining operations.
  • Interprets blueprints, sketches and engineering specifications and interprets required tolerances.
  • Plans, constructs, alters and repairs a wide variety of tools, jigs, fixtures, and gauges to very close tolerances.
  • Performs development work, difficult tool room operations, skilled fitting, timing and adjusting.
  • Plans construction procedures and methods.
  • Selects the correct materials.
  • Makes allowances for shrinkage during heat treatment of tools.
  • Diagnoses and corrects trouble in complicated tools.

We are the U.S. premier manufacture of hydraulic rotary actuators. Helac is a Seattle-Tacoma, Washington based internationally respected manufacturer of hydraulic rotary actuators for mobile equipment. We are located in Enumclaw, Washington. As a leader in the fluid power industry for over 40 years, we manufacture a comprehensive line of hydraulic rotary actuators used as component parts in OEM equipment and after-market attachments for the construction equipment industry. Our rotary actuators are best known for their tremendous torque output, compact dimensions, exceptional load bearing capability and rugged, reliable performance. 
 
  • Engineering Management: Direct our design engineering function by formulating department structure, processes and equipment. Team development from selection, to disciplinary action. Insure our products are acceptable for the intended application.
  • New product development: Proactive involvement in our product steering team and in planning and execution of our product development initiatives.
  • Design Engineering: As the leader of this key department, currently 14 team members, a portion of your time will be hands on, doing application engineering, product development along with research and development.

Requirements:

PC Technician
Work Summary

Assist in the install, maintenance and monitoring of multiple printers, workstations, and applications. Responsibilities include supporting Windows NT/2000/2003 Servers as well as handling operating systems ranging from Windows NT/2000 to Vista. The position includes support of end users local and remote, resolving software and hardware problems, performing system backups and recovery, maintaining data files and monitoring system configuration to ensure data integrity as well as keep logs and documentation up-to-date. The individual must have strong communication skills and excellent organization and planning skills to perform multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment which offers the opportunity to work with wide range of technologies.
  • Requirements/ Qualifications:
  • 2-3 year experience in a similar capacity
  • MCSE a plus
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Server/Workstation operating systems, common services, and protocols (i.e., SMTP, POP3, WWW, FTP, TCP/IP, WINS, VPN, DNS, DHCP, Wireless Networking,)

CNC Machine Operator - Lathe
Work Summary

1st shift, Mon – Fri 5:15 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
2nd shift, Mon – Fri 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Operate Helac machines, ability to make setups on various machines in multiple cells. Experience with Mazak M32 control, Okuma, Fanuc, controls or manual gear cutting is preferred.
Set up on various types of production equipment.
Loads and unloads, deburrs and does all inspection of any run in the cell.
Move offsets and performs editing on the control of most jobs in the cell and blocks through programs.
Checks, oil, coolant, grease and any other light maintenance items needed.
Maintains a clean work area and assists in departmental housekeeping.
Complies with safety procedures and company policies.

Uses a variety of hand tools and basic production equipment to prepare components
for assembly.
Assembles repetitive products.
Assists upper level assemblers in cleaning, organizing and maintaining the work areas
and equipment.




Welder
Work Summary

1st shift, Mon – Fri 5:15 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
2nd shift, Mon – Fri 4:00 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
Operates one or more weld tools, special purpose machines, or industrial robots to weld metal work pieces to specifications on production basis by performing the following duties.
Tacks welds using fixtures.
Welds bosses and housing.
Checks dimensions using measuring devices, i.e., check pins with decimal tape and dial calipers.
