Design/Product Engineer
This is an exciting product development and engineering opportunity.
Work Summary
Work with Helac’s products and services by proactively testing, refining our current products, developing and prototyping new applications. Responsible for assigned projects and proposals, including program design, cost, schedule, and testing. Coordinate with testing, engineering, marketing, sales, service and production to complete assigned projects. Provide leadership to designers and other related Helac business functions.
Description of this position
- Assume complete responsibility for multiple projects and business initiatives under the guidance of our Engineering Manager and/or the supervising Project Manager for proposals and projects assigned. Will coordinate with the representatives of testing, engineering, marketing, sales, service and production to plan and develop programs.
- Supervise drafter-designers, junior level engineers, and other engineering staff.
- Estimate and maintain effective control of project, schedule and product cost.
- Ensure all analysis for form, fit, and function is complete.
- Ensure products meet advertised specifications by description of the product, envelope, performance, stress analysis, weight analysis, reliability, materials and other data required to satisfy the specifications.
- Review and approve complete product drawings, drawing release packages, and drawing revisions.
- Implement product testing for all new designs.
- You’ll work with production to assist in establishing and communicating proper assembly and testing procedures.
- Application Engineering: work with customers and/or sales personnel to determine cost effective solutions for current future customers.
- Develop and coordinate product improvements and cost savings programs.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education and Experience – BSME with a minimum of 7 years of engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with lathe-mill machining, fabrication, and welding. Must possess CAD drafting / 3-D Solid Modeling skills (Autocad 2000, Solid Works 2004 preferred). Knowledge of ANSI & ISO drafting procedures and geometric tolerances. Proficient with statistics, mechanics and materials, stress analysis, Newtonian physics, supporting mathematics including, fractions, decimals, geometry, trigonometry and algebra. Experience in one or more of the following is preferred: Construction or mining equipment, Hydraulic component and seal design, Castings and forgings, Hydraulic systems, schematics, and basic circuit design.

Machine Operator (Lathe)
Work Summary
Tends Helac machines, ability to make setups on various machines in multiple cells. Experience with Mazak M32 control, Okuma, Fanuc, controls or manual gear cutting is preferred.
Description of work Performed:
- Set up on various types of production equipment.
- Loads and unloads, deburrs and does all inspection of any run in the cell
- Move offsets and performs editing on the control of most jobs in the cell and blocks through programs.
- Checks, oil, coolant, grease and any other light maintenance items needed.
- Maintains a clean work area and assists in departmental housekeeping.
- Complies with safety procedures and company policies.
- Completes additional duties and projects as assigned.
- Actively participates in company sponsored training programs.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Ability to read and comprehend machine coordinates
- Ability to follow verbal instructions and complete tasks that may be repetitive.
- Ability to lift 35 lbs.
- Minimum Three years experience as a NC lathe, or mill operator, or the equivalent. Ability to demonstrate this knowledge to supervisor

Work Summary

- Engineering Management: Direct our design engineering function by formulating department structure, processes and equipment. Team development from selection, to disciplinary action. Insure our products are acceptable for the intended application.
- New product development: Proactive involvement in our product steering team and in planning and execution of our product development initiatives.
- Design Engineering: As the leader of this key department, currently 8 team members, a portion of your time will be hands on, doing application engineering, product development along with research and development.

This position will provide extensive clerical and administrative support to the Human Resources Department using MS Word, Excel, Access and other human resources databases. This part-time position will work a morning shift M – F approx. 20 hrs. per week.

Supply Chain Manager
Work Summary
This position will develop, implement and manage the activities related to the supply chain of materials. Including international suppliers, material purchase, planning, inventory control, shipping & receiving and store functions.
Description of work Performed:
- Maintains a supplier quality evaluation system. Works with suppliers to improve quality and value.

Manufacturing Engineering Manager
Work Summary
Oversee the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality in accordance with product specifications and quality standards as well as cost efficiency. Ensures the engineering team and other manufacturing departments work together cohesively and is responsible for the development of equipment to aid in the manufacturing process. Leads and directs the work of assigned manufacturing engineers and project technicians.

- Analyze and design lean manufacturing cells using effective systems and simulation tools to optimize, use of space, equipment, material and personnel.
- Assist in developing plant layout in planning rearrangement of facilities, equipment and operations for better utilization of space.
- Work closely with research and development, quality assurance and maintenance personnel to prevent problems with products and tooling/fixtures.

Marketing Coordinator
Helac Corporation, located in Enumclaw, is looking for a Marketing Coordinator to join our team to support our continued growth. Work Summary
Coordinates a variety of marketing programs for both the actuator and attachment product divisions.
Description of work Performed:
- Coordinates event planning for domestic and international trade shows.
- Supports Director of Marketing with implementing the company’s community relations program, including building relationships with local interest groups, placing press opportunities, and creating and placing requested artwork.
- Follows up on attachment quotations to help push product through sales cycle and to determine win/loss rationale.
- Supports Marketing Specialist with the content, design and production of the company’s promotional activities including advertising, direct mail and website.
- Creates weekly and monthly marketing reports to track the efficiency of Helac’s marketing programs.
- Enters new leads and prospects into customer relationship management (CRM) database for both product divisions.
- Prepares and sends fulfillment packages to newly entered leads and prospects.
